Obscurity is a secure, private, peer-to-peer instant messaging app that uses end-to-end encryption to ensure the security and privacy of your messages. It sends messages directly from you to your friends over the Tor® network*--we have no servers involved in processing your messages--meaning that not even we can see who you're talking to or what you're saying. Your phone number is not used when sending messages, we instead use a randomly generated address that is not linked to any personally identifying information. No one will know who your address belongs to unless you tell them, and no one can find your address unless you give it to them (or they get it from a mutual friend). Your messages and your list of contacts are stored encrypted on your device and are never accessible outside of Obscurity. Because ads invade your privacy, Obscurity is supported by a modest annual subscription. The subscription includes a 30 day Free Trial for first time subscribers and allows you to send messages; you are always able to receive messages. You can send as many private and secure messages as you want so long as your subscription is active.
