Hi, welcome to the iScholar testing family

SCHOLAR is a programme, which provides common educational resources and a 'virtual college' support network. SCOLAR courses can be studied through a partner school or college in your area, or directly with the University. It provides online learning resources for all school and colleges in Scotland with over 100.000 learners and teachers. The system was only web-based and it lacked a mobile application. As the proliferation of smartphones continues to rise, coupled with the fact that there were over 22m app downloads in the UK last year, Heriot-Watt University is now interested in investigating the benefits of a mobile application to support the current SCHOLAR web based system. Therefore the aims and objectives of this honors project are to develop (using a RAD approach) an easy, intuitive and carefully designed mobile application to support a range of learning contexts, ranging from conventional, classroom implementation over blended learning approaches to distance learning which will allow users (secondary school students from all over Scotland) to customize their iScholar App to their specific set of wants and needs and learn “on-the-go”.
